The Department of Computer Science at Ball State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to begin Fall, 2017. We are seeking candidates whose research focus is in Software Engineering to support our newly formed Master of Science in Software Engineering program, with preference for candidates with industry experience.

Major responsibilities: Teach courses for computer science majors and graduate students with primary interest in software engineering specialties, supervising graduate students, scholarship including publications and presentations, and participating in department, college and/or university service and outreach activities.

Minimum qualifications: An earned doctorate in computer science or software engineering by August 1, 2017, from an accredited college or university; a promise of excellence in teaching of graduate courses; demonstration of excellent communication skills; ability to establish an active research program.

Preferred qualifications: Ph.D., preferably in software engineering; teaching experience in software engineering; publications, and/or evidence of other significant scholarly activity; practical experience as a software engineer; eagerness to teach senior graduate level courses in software engineering.
