Partners with therapeutic business unit leadership, various business partners, and subject matter experts to drive decisions and actions based on analytical findings and intelligence to provide actionable recommendations in order to achieve growth targets, support corporate strategies, and increase employee knowledge. Proactively collaborates with stakeholders and colleagues on a regular basis to provide impactful deliverables in pursuit of shared objectives.
In collaboration with therapeutic business unit leaders, proactively guides and develops strategies for creating and executing data-driven solutions that lead to improvement and optimization in sales performance and realization of growth targets within the therapeutic business unit.
* Consults with internal and external colleagues to analyze and interpret industry and customer intelligence from multiple data sources to contribute to increased overall knowledge and more effective opportunity strategies, strategic planning, lead generation, proposals, bid defenses, and presentations that ultimately results in growth of new business awards.
Leads the process of identifying competitive trends, providing early indications of threats and opportunities in the evolving competitive landscape, and evaluating their impact.
Applies data aggregation, descriptive analysis, and data presentation techniques and tools to communicate complex findings in an easily understood manner and recommendations to achieve business growth targets. Utilizes all available data sources within the organization.
Provides regular analysis of sponsor and market opportunities by utilization of the Tableau Trial Predictor Tool and drives action across the Company through timely, impactful deliverables that contribute to both short-term and long-term growth in opportunities.
Conducts in-depth analyses to address complex and/or strategic questions such as defining market opportunities and market ceilings. Uses knowledge of business and all available data to anticipate problems or opportunities where information can be leveraged both vertically and horizontally within the organizational structure to proactively drive early engagement, customer intimacy, and new business.
Leads market research projects to identify customer issues of diverse scope, R&D, and outsourcing trends and defines customer requirements and preferences to promote customer intimacy. May manage projects beginning to end including gathering requirements, project planning, delivery dates, and evaluation of success metrics.
Presents business intelligence information and insights to Business Unit leaders and executive management for internal and external presentations and to support strategic planning initiatives.
Acts as the primary business partner between the assigned Therapeutic Business Unit(s), Business Development, and Marketing to proactively develop business plans and collaborate and communicate on a regular basis in order to achieve shared growth targets. Monitors and reports on progress against the plan throughout the year.
* C ontributes to a team environment by sharing successful ideas and reports with colleagues and continues to foster credibility with Business Unit leaders.
Performs other work-related duties as assigned. Minimal travel may be required (up to 25%).
BA/BS degree in Business or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. An advanced degree (MS/MBA/MHA/MPH) is preferred. Significant experience managing a business, market, and/or competitive intelligence function in the CRO, pharmaceutical, or life science industries or the ability to prove comparable experience in a related field of study. Experience in market research, strategic planning, analytics, market intelligence, or strategic marketing where data is a foundation for recommendations and decision-making. Thorough knowledge of research and analysis methodologies/practices as well as knowledge of sales, marketing principles, practices, tactics, and tools. Proficiency and experience in industry-specific databases and sources (e.g. Adis, Thomson, BioPharm Insight, EvaluatePharma, VerusMed, PharmSource). Excellent written and oral communication and effective presentation skills with a demonstrated ability to clearly and concisely communicate complex information to a variety of audiences. Strong understanding of data organization, statistical interpretation of data, synthesis of findings, and appropriate reporting. Understanding of drug pipelines, clinical trials, and the CRO industry. Ability to extrapolate, succinctly summarize, and explain highly technical or complex issues to a high-level management audience. Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and functional disciplines. Ability to serve on, assist, and/or lead cross-functional teams. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while achieving results in an ambiguous work environment. Proven ability to motivate an indirect team to achieve well-communicated expectations and consensus while building abilities and working effectively across internal global functional areas.
