JOB DESCRIPTIONDermira is a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to identifying, developing and commercializing innovative, differentiated therapies to improve the lives of patients with dermatologic diseases. As a member of the Medical Affairs senior leadership team, the Associate Director/Director will work closely with Medical Science Liaison (MSL), Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), and Medical Communications leadership to develop the on-boarding and training curriculum for Medical Affairs staff. The Associate Director/Director will be responsible for strategic business plans and goals, annual budgets, reporting metrics, information system requirements and associated reporting capabilities. This position reports to the SVP, Medical Affairs & Compliance.
Understand principles of adult learning and apply them to the developing disease state and therapeutic training for on-boarding and continuous learning needs of medical affairs staff.
Working with medical affairs leaders, Information Technology (IT), and other key cross-functional stakeholders to define IT business needs for field and corporate office based staff.;
In partnership with medical affairs leadership, the individual in this role will design, develop, and implement reporting metrics (qualitative and quantitative) and dashboards;
Lead strategic planning for medical affairs that includes capacity modeling, operating reviews, department budgeting and operations.
Managing vendors and consultants that may be utilized by medical affairs. and
Leading department and/or project teams and related initiatives as appropriate.
