JOB DESCRIPTIONAssociate Dean for Professional Development: Working closely with the two other Associate Deans overseeing academic programming, the Dean and the rest of the senior leadership team, the Associate Dean (Professional Programs) will be important leader in the school, who will create, develop, and direct a portfolio of educational offerings that takes the school into the 21st century. The Associate Dean will oversee a portfolio which includes professional masters degrees as well as professional and developmental graduate certificate programs. Candidates must have experience in an academic environment committed to the highest level of academic standards of integrity and quality. The Associate Dean will be an entrepreneurial figure directing programmatic efforts which engage civically, globally, and with the latest innovations in teaching and learning.
Direct the development and delivery of programs in unison with the vision and values of the Graham School and the University of Chicago;
Lead and support a team dedicated to the development and delivery of Graham's academic programs;
Build, nurture, and sustain mutually beneficial relationships with key stakeholders;
Foster innovation, integrated planning, and continuing improvement;
With other team members, conduct program needs assessment and review;
Oversee instructor recruitment and appointments in assigned areas;
Explore and recommend opportunities for extending the University's programming;
Exploit opportunities for curricular and pedagogical innovation and experimentation including nontraditional forms of programming;
Create programming that embraces the unique University of Chicago intellectual learning environment.
