Genomic Health ( is a life science company whose core competence is improving the quality of treatment decisions for patients with cancer by utilizing genomic technologies to predict cancer recurrence and response to therapy. The G&A IT BRM partners with HR, Finance, Legal/Compliance/Regulatory, and Corporate Communications, to ensure the timely and optimal delivery of Information Technology solutions for these business areas. The position bridges between business partners and technology solution providers, operating in strategic and tactical capacities while overseeing projects and managing staff for existing IT applications, new system development, maintenance and operational activities


* Solution Delivery

* Leads a team including Business Analysts, Programmer Analysts, and matrixed personnel (including Project Managers, software engineers, architects, etc.)

* Gathers high-level business requirements and defines scope during by conducting meetings/interviews and facilitating large group/cross-functional sessions with partners

* Oversees systems design, analysis, and development projects to modify existing systems and to implement new custom or commercial off-the-shelf solutions

* Ensures systems meet user requirements, department standards, and regulatory guidelines

* Team leadership and management

* Manager to a team of analysts responsible for the success of the G&A business area from an IT point of view

* Responsible for project assignments, operational assignments, work output, career development and leadership of the G&A IT team

* Relationship Management

* Builds and maintains strong relationships with business partners and acts as a liaison between IT teams and the business partner

* Updates and creates awareness to new partners with regards to IT service offerings

* Communicates business needs with appropriate IT solution center to gain alignment between business needs and technical capabilities

* Maintains knowledge of multiple business functions and initiatives to identify where conflicts/synergies exist between technologies and business functions

* Oversee interfaces and interactions with the IT group to ensure secure and reliable setup of systems and their management in a controlled environment

* Provides instruction for internal training programs

* Assists other IT staff with the resolution of complex computer system problems

* Portfolio Management

* Ensures timely completion of program related projects

* Captures and aggregates demand for resources

* Sets priorities reflecting business needs and direction while optimizing use of resources

* Participates in development of business strategic planning and leads IT strategic planning

* Provides details on cost, value, and opportunity to optimize IT spend (initiatives and support services)

* Leads in the development of business cases requiring IT-based solutions

* Ensures portfolio transparency through regular reporting and stakeholder communication

* Business and Technology

* Establishes and grows strategic partnership with business partners on the best use of technology to address current and future needs.

* Creates and maintains the business technology and system solution roadmaps

* Develops and applies expertise in processes, systems, and associated technologies

* Maintains up-to-date awareness of the current and future directions of the industry and associated technologies, and, where appropriate, makes recommendations for implementation of new/upgraded systems and technologies

* Combines a general knowledge of multiple technology areas with knowledge of the targeted business function to define and document the business requirements

* Vendor & Platform Management (focused on domain based systems)

* Establishes initial vendor relationships and maintains a forward-looking view of vendor direction

* Interfaces with vendors to understand whether vendor products will meet business requirements

* Identifies opportunities for increased system efficiencies and operational improvement and recommend improvements through modification of current systems, implementation of new systems and technologies, and implementation of more efficient processes

* Oversees the coordination of adequate system support coverage for all systems in a timely manner to maintain system availability, reliability, and integrity

* Establishes governance and directs resources for configuration management and self-service options

* Assists in the development of metrics used to track value delivery

* Domain-specific

* Manages the IT aspects of the multi-year implementation of NetSuite ERP, working with business partners, the corporate Program Management group, and related committees

* IT ownership of all existing ERP systems

* IT ownership of company-wide systems for internal communication (e.g. intranet) and document management (including SharePoint and DocuSign)

* IT ownership of SaaS systems for HR (including ADP, SuccessFactors, and UltiPro), finance (including Host Analytics and Expense Wire), and others


* Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or a related field

* More than 6 years of technical project leadership experience including business relationship management, project management, system analysis, and vendor management.

* 5 of years of managing, developing, team of managers and individual contributors.

* Responsible position in a multi-project environment with timeline responsibilities

* Deep finance operations and ERP implementation and management experience, including NetSuite

* Experience in at least one additional G&A domain: HR, legal, compliance/regulatory, or corporate communications

* Experience with multiple SaaS implementations

* Experience with one or more document/content management systems (SharePoint, Documentum)

* Experience managing a team of direct reports


* Excellent analytical and collaboration skills to accurately evaluate input gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and build collaborative, high value solutions.

* Facilitation skills to lead requirements elicitation workshops that bring clarity to prioritized business needs and distinguish solution ideas from requirements.

* Observational skills to know when to apply new data collection and validation techniques

* Change management

* An understanding of contemporary requirements elicitation, analysis, specification, verification, and management practices and the ability to apply them in practice

* Practical application of requirements engineering best practices in multiple IT team environments (e.g. Software Engineering, Infrastructure, Database Engineering)

* Practical system solution architecture skills a plus
