The North America Associate Director of Payroll Services is responsible for overseeing the accurate, compliant, and timely processing of multiple payrolls in North America and Canada. They will lead the Payroll function in North American while partnering with other departments in multiple geographical locations.
In addition to having a solid understanding of payroll legislation, they will be comfortable managing complex payroll items such as stock, expatriates; In addition a strong acumen in vendor management is essential.
To support the integration of outsourcing payroll to a 3rd party vendor and to continue with the strategy for the service delivery model in a fast and dynamic environment.
The Associate Director will play a key role in evaluating and recommending process improvement opportunities internally and with external vendors ensuring S.L.A s are active and managed to ensure effectiveness and efficiency levels are set and communicated via monthly dashboards and presentations.
The Associate Director of Payroll Services must be professional, confident and possess solid written and verbal communication skills. Working with individuals at all levels of the organization, including external vendors/customers, the incumbent will manage multiple tasks against tight deadlines, conduct briefings and technical meetings, be highly confidential with sensitive information and demonstrate an ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
The Associate Director of Payroll Services must have large multi-national company experience.
Fluency in English as well as a second language is preferred.
Provide leadership and direction to your team establishing goals and managing performance.
Communicate well with your team to ensure you lead with transparency and the deliverables are well understood
Oversee the daily operations of N.A & Canadian payrolls. Ensure consistent processes, resolve escalated issues, and ensure balanced workload among team.
Operationally you will manage the compliance requirements and ensure all controls are in place.
As part of your management responsibilities establish and maintain good working relationships with the payroll vendors is paramount to success and being able to resolve issues and identify opportunities
Assist with the development of a strategy for a payroll service delivery model.
Assist the Head, Global Payroll leading the transition to the new model while identifying and implementing sustainable payroll process improvements.
Support and advise on Equity and Mobility requirements and the successful delivery in to Payroll & Finance
Provide advice and support to global Human Resources and Finance Shared Services teams in other duties and projects as appropriate
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
BA or BS degree in Accounting/Finance or 10+ years equivalent work experience.
Significant and demonstrable knowledge and skills in successfully managing a department responsible for multiple Country payrolls.
Experience managing payroll from within a Shared Services environment is strongly desired.
Comprehensive knowledge and skills in identifying and implementing process improvements.
Demonstrable knowledge and skills in partnering with 3rd party vendor to define and achieve organizational strategy- strongly preferred.
Experience of working with the Workday system is preferred
Excellent knowledge of and experience managing SOX compliance.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
