JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
The Clinical Specialty Laboratory (CSL) is a CLIA accredited high-complexity lab responsible for patient immune surveillance, and biomarker support for clinical drug development and post-marketing programs. The lab monitors treatment efficacy and immune responses to investigational and commercial therapeutic products.
This position will lead a group of clinical scientists to qualify clinical/diagnostic tests and perform clinical mass spectrometry based biomarker analysis in a CLIA/NY state regulated laboratory environment.
Demonstrate leadership experience and communication skills.
Closely interact with Sample Management, Quality System, Medical Affairs and Key Opining Leaders as well as Principle Investigators.
Review and Write up clinical study reports and peer-reviewed scientific publications.
Manage direct reports for staff performance assessment and career development.
Maintain lab efficiency standards, metrics and compliance to State/CLIA and FDA Regulatory practices.
Ph.D. in Pharmacology or Chemistry/Biochemistry, or Clinical Laboratory Science related. BOARD CERTIFICATION (such as ABT, ABB, ABCC) is required. At least 10 years of clinical and/or industry experience in CRO/biotech/pharmaceutical company. Strong scientific background in Mass Spectrometry Analytical Chemistry. Hands on experience in LC/MS/MS technology platforms are required. Good organization and scientific writing skills.
Knowledge in disease biology is preferred. Experienced with implementation of high throughput mass spectrometry, automation technology and multiplexing biomarker assays into organizations is a plus.
Base Salary - $123,658 to $185,486
