Job Description

NOTE: THIS POSITION WILL START IN JUNE 2012.

Job Summary:
Under general supervision, provides engineering and technical consultation services in the solution of complex technical problems and Development or Implementation of Engineering Programs and Processes.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: (*essential job functions)

1.) Under direct supervision, performs work that conforms to all project/task requirements, including defined scope, schedule and budget.
2.) Follows prescribed procedures and conducts analyses to develop design options or recommendations for structures, systems and components.
3.) Assists with the preparation of cost estimates and specifications.
4.) Other tasks and duties include self-assessment, corrective actions, technical procedure reviews, presentations, and improvement initiatives.
Job Specifications:
Knowledge: Requires an understanding of and ability to apply engineering theories, standards, concepts, techniques as well as some knowledge of engineering industry codes and government regulations.

Skills/Abilities: Ability to apply basic engineering concepts to solve problems. Ability to communicate technical results in both written and verbal format.

Education/Experience: Must meet Section 4.6.2 of ANSI Standard N18.1-1971 (Ginna, NMP1, CCNPP). Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline or Physical Sciences.

Other:
1.) Meet the requirements of Company and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) psychological, drug, alcohol, and medical testing policies and/or regulations.
2.) Satisfactorily complete General Employee Training (GET).
3.) Satisfactorily complete radiation safety training (may include respirator qualifications), if required for job performance.
4.) Satisfactorily complete required background checks.
5.) Recent convictions for crimes reasonably related to the activities of this job may disqualify an applicant.
