Summary of Job Duties
(Note: This summary will be used for keyword search) Assists with all administrative support aspects of Interfacial Sciences Center programs and operations. Implements administrative procedures in accordance with agency, University, Federal and State policies and regulations. Uses administrative knowledge of relevant policies, regulations and procedures in order to assist the general operations of the Interfacial Sciences lab.

Minimum Requirements
Must be able to organize and prioritize workload. Able to work independently under pressure of deadlines, and handle multiple interruptions efficiently. Able to work as a member of a team. Demonstrated experience with MS Word and Excel. Must be able to exercise independent professional judgment, creative problem solving skills, diplomacy, and an attitude supportive of students, staff and faculty. Must be able to comprehend and interpret regulations from various administrative offices for students, staff and faculty.

Desirable Requirements
BA/BS Degree preferred. Computer proficient. Experience working in an academic setting assisting faculty.

Administrative Support
Provides organizational support to the Director of the Interfacial Sciences Laboratory. Administers and prioritizes the program workload and other related academic and research activities under the general direction of the Director. Manages the operating budget by projecting personnel payments and coordinating purchasing for the research group in conjunction with various departments on campus. Assists in grant proposal preparation coordinating with various UCSB academic departments, the Office of Research and Extramural Funds Accounting using various programs like Grants.gov and NSF Fastlane to assist in proposal submission and grant reporting. Serves as the liaison between the Director and various departments by reviewing various consulting and proposal requests. Assists Director with Conflict of Interest reporting. Serves as administrative contact to guests and various academic and industrial visitors. Coordinates meetings with the Director as necessary. Plans travel itineraries for faculty, acts as a liaison for visitors, aids in locating housing contacts for visitors and new group members. Responsible for administrative coordination of manuscript submission by the research group, uploading manuscript and corrections, as needed. Serves as editorial assistant to the Director, who is an Editor of PNAS by handling correspondence with multiple reviewers of
