Westwood Lodge Hospital and Lowell Treatment Center are
comprehensive full service behavioral health facilities
that provide a wide range of inpatient and partial
hospitalization programs and services in a private
community setting. Our facilities provide a safe,
therapeutic environment for Children, Adolescents, Adult
and Adult Dual Diagnosis patients and their families. We
are currently seeking an Attending Psychiatrist to
function as a part of our multidisciplinary treatment
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for daily contact with the
Nurse Manager and Case Managers to accomplish effective
treatment coordination and discharge planning. Ensures
daily visits to all assigned inpatient and partial
hospital patients as assigned.
Clinical Competence: Demonstrates clinical competence in
the assessment, formulation, psychopharmacology,
management and disposition of adults, adolescents,
children, developmentally disabled, addictions/dual
diagnosis. Demonstrates positive therapeutic connection
with patients and their families as indicated by staff
evaluation and patient satisfaction report. Demonstrates
leadership in the multidisciplinary treatment planning
Documentation of Quality Care: Meets Medial Staff
standards as required regarding adherence to prescribing
protocols, adherence to formulary management protocols,
peer review and other Medical Staff Quality indicators.
Ensures timeliness of medical records by meeting current
medical record standards for discharge summaries and
signatures. Consistently documents problem-specific
progress notes according to required format, and timely
updates of the treatment plan. Justifies all orders in
the progress notes. Attends Medical Executive staff
meetings. Participates on one other Medical Staff
Committee. Monitors medical problems, lab results and
consultation information with appropriate documentation
in the medical record. Ensures quality of medical
records through documentation of assessments and
discharge summaries. Participates in performance
improvement efforts. Demonstrates knowledge of
principles of proactive utilization management.
Accessibility/Availability: Available on site at the
hospital during all agreed-upon hours. Informs Medical
Director of all vacations and sick time in a timely
manner. Available by telephone within reason, when not
on vacation or sick, to discuss issues concerning
medical care of assigned patients. Available as required
for weekend telephone back up. Adheres to standards of
professional conduct.
Education: Board Certified Psychiatrist. Current CPR
Technical Skills: Ability to communicate effectively
through spoken word and in writing.
Age and Disability: Must have experience and sensitivity
to supervise care for patients in all age groups and
