The position requires at least two years of hands-on
experience in programming, operating, and maintaining
automated laboratory equipment. Direct experience with
hardware platforms such as the Hamilton MICROLAB STAR,
Biomek FX, Agilent Bravo, Labcyte Echo, and familiarity
with integration software are a plus. Strong
quantitative skills, and the ability to function and
communicate effectively in a highly productive
multi-disciplinary environment are a must. Requirements:
This role will support small molecule drug discovery at
Merck Research Laboratories Boston in the Department of
Pharmacology, focusing on automation support for high
throughput pharmacology and genomics experiments. The
candidate is expected to program, operate, maintain, and
trouble shoot laboratory automation, including
conventional liquid handlers, acoustic dispensers,
robotic arms, plate readers, and other devices. The
candidate will work closely with other scientists within
the department and across functional teams, supporting
research programs in Immuno-oncology, Metabolic Disease,
and Neuroscience.
* Laboratory automation programming and operation,
reagent handling for pharmaceutical research,
attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate
and multitask.
* Must have hands on experience with HTS (High
Throughput Screening).
* Liquid Handling and Automation experience is

* B.S. degree in biomedical engineering, biophysics,
biochemistry, pharmacology or related areas.
