M.S. or B.S. in EE/CS or equivalent 5+ years of experience in system specification software development and verification of complex highly reliable avionics systems. Experience with embedded software development for fault tolerant systems is desired. Experience with APEC space and time partitioned operating systems highly desired. Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide solid technical innovation are necessary. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

The candidate will have a critical role in Draper's responsibility to specify and develop highly reliable real-time embedded avionics and safety critical systems in the Avionics Architectures Group. This group provides full spectrum advanced GN&C "box-level" system solutions for first-of-a-kind nationally important missions. The candidate should have excellent knowledge and experience working with one or more of the following technical capabilities: modern avionics systems GN&C algorithms fault-tolerant processing architectures redundancy management fault detection isolation and reconfiguration and real-time embedded software. Activities include the entire system and software life cycle from requirements definition architecture design specification implementation through integration & test as well as detailed research in specific areas. The individual will support program development (WBS SOW schedule budget) project planning tracking and oversight when needed. He/she will be expected to maintain state-of-the-art technical expertise in avionics and embedded software engineering specializing in redundant fault tolerant systems. This position will include collaborating with other technical and program areas within and outside the Laboratory.
