JOB DESCRIPTION

SUMMARY:
This position is an project site location position responsible for performing intermediate to advanced understanding of the implementation of building automation system and sub-contractor oversight tasks.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary duties.

Energy
Participate in performing preliminary and detailed energy engineering studies of complex projects of unlimited scope and size.
Generate baseline energy models and perform energy savings calculations
Define project scope and perform project cost estimates
Prepare technical audit reports
May assist in sales presentations

Mechanical and Electrical (site or office)
Prepare mechanical or electrical systems plans, specifications, and study reports to accomplish the goals and objectives of the projects. Mechanical systems include: HVAC, building automation, plumbing, chilled water, heating water and steam generation and distribution, natural gas, medical gas, compressed air and fire protection systems. Electrical Systems include power generation and distribution, lighting, fire alarm, lightning protection and low-voltage systems. Knowledge and interaction of these system for a successful implementation.
Assist or lead, depending upon project size and complexity, technical decision making for implementation of engineered solution, in conjunction and coordination with the lead automation engineer and/or site project management.
Assist or lead, depending upon project size and complexity, the development of plans, specifications and reports in accordance with established company procedures.
Prepare letters, memos, and other routine correspondence and documentation in accordance with established company procedures.
Lead construction administration for projects, as assigned.
Comply with or develop project plan to ensure scope, schedule, budget and
expectations (SSBE) corresponds with the team expectations.
Ensure conformance to office and industry design standards.
Provide input to lead engineer and project manager during initial and subsequent design phases.
Coordinate and prioritize workload to ensure project deadlines are met.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external clients.
Assist in securing new work orders or projects including participation in the
preparation of proposals, presentations and other business development activities.

Project Site Work
Perform validation and commissioning for intermediate to complex projects of unlimited scope and size
Responsible for execution of automation design
Assist in quality control and standard conformance for design and execution
Validate and test sequence of operations and control I/O for complete system operation
Establish, test and confirm Network and user interface
Create project documentation and participate in customer interaction - inclusive of training and support for hot/cold calls.
Perform system, installation and engineering troubleshooting
Responsible for mentoring and training other employees
Oversight of subcontractors for execution of work - inclusive of updates, reports, safety, and conformance to execution standards

Intermediate verbal and written communication skills including, but not limited
to, the ability to listen effectively, and solicit input from others.
Intermediate ability to use Microsoft Office programs including but not limited to, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Intermediate organizational skills including, but not limited to, the ability to
handle multiple demands and assignments, the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and efficiently, and the ability to manage resource procurement and
utilization.
Basic employee and/or client training and mentoring skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the primary duties of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary duties.
The majority of the work is sedentary. However, when performing job site visits the employee will encounter: moving over rough or uneven surfaces, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities, recurring lifting of moderately heavy to light items. Transporting of items such as laptop computers, tools, ladders and other heavy equipment, driving an automobile, etc.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the primary duties of this job. While performing the primary functions of the job, the employee is regularly exposed mechanical rooms, ladders, outside weather conditions, loud noises, electrical and non-public areas of facilities. Employee may work in different environments
while on various job sites. This job will require approximately 85-100% travel to project sites. Travel will occur through the use of an automobile or by airplane to destinations on a weekly basis.
