External Job Responsibilities

We Energies, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking an Engineer for Gas Operations. The Associate Engineer/Engineer/Sr. Engineer - Gas Operations is responsible for supporting the design of gas supply and distribution facilities. This person will approve the design of mains, services and related distribution facilities safely and economically to adequately supply new and existing customers. They are also responsible for working with state, county and municipal officials to ensure timely construction. In addition, they will review, implement and provide project management for large construction projects. They will also serve as a technical resource for field personnel. Major Duties/Responsibilities include: * Approve the design of mains, services and related gas distribution facilities. * Specify and order non-stock materials for construction of gas facilities. * Ensure that the distribution system is designed and operated in compliance with State and Federal codes and the State of Wisconsin Transportation 220 Statute. * Coordinate state work plans and review prior to submittal. * Develop preliminary design and layout of major projects to the extent that the company management and if necessary, the Public Service Commission can authorize a project. * Review large project costs during and after projects to make sure that they are on budget. * Ensure that all proposed construction is consistent with department and overall company objectives. * Prepares reports and/or presentations to justify recommendations as required. * Available to provide daily engineering analysis for non-routine distribution system operating problems.

Education/Experience Requirements

A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required. Skills in civil and mechanical engineering are preferred. A minimum of two years engineering experience is preferred. Registration as a Professional Engineer is desired. Experience in construction and field practices as well as design, operation and maintenance/repair of gas distribution facilities is desirable. The successful candidate must have strong written and oral communication skills, analytical skills and the ability to lead and direct others. Have demonstrated knowledge in project management, planning, capital budgeting and report writing. Knowledge of computer systems and the ability to use a variety of office and engineering software is required. Applicants must comply with D.O.T. Part 199 pipeline drug and alcohol testing requirements.
