RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Administrator Will:



Conduct routine hardware and software audits of backup and recovery systems to ensure compliance with established standards, policies and configuration guidelines.

Work with manager, architectural, business and operational teams to design, implement and support standards-based, cost effective backup and recovery solutions.

Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and supporting documents for Backup and Recovery environment

Maintain growth statistics, space forecasts and software and hardware inventories.

Develop, track and report key backup and recovery metrics, SLAs and KPIs including RTO, RPO, etc.

Maintain production change control schedules and participate in change control meetings.

Monitor and tune backup and recovery systems to achieve optimum performance levels.

Perform software installations and upgrades for backup and restore applications and layered software packages.

Troubleshoot problems and respond to escalation and performance repairs as needed.

Monitor and perform follow-ups on compliance violations for all company sites.

Keep appraised of backup and recovery technology changes, advances and enhancements.

Plan, participate and manage disaster recovery activities.

Work with manager and industry experts to develop, publish and enforce system architecture standards.

Provide detailed technical documentation for both procedures and diagrams on all of the above accountabilities.

Maintain and support SOX compliance and internal controls.



Key Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for the installation, implementation, and ongoing management of the CommVault Simpana infrastructure for Corporate Data centers and distributed remote company locations.

Act as a liaison (SME) to other departments, representing the backup team on all technical matters related to backup and recovery management.

Ability to design and implement solutions for mission critical applications and manage change in a large-scale, multi-TB, highly virtualized environment.

Ensure steady accessibility and recoverability of company data.

Capacity planning and performance tuning of Backup and Recovery environments.

Manage upgrade and patch projects of Backup and Recovery applications and devices.

Manage disaster recovery preparation and exercises.

Work with various technical teams in order to design, implement and manage enterprise disaster recovery

Document Corporate Backup and RecoveryDR Standards and Operating Procedures

Maintaining and Testing of Backup and Recovery Plans, Documentation and Strategies

Audit Corporate Backup, Retention and RecoveryDR Standards and Operating Procedures

Management and Administration of onsite and offsite Backup and Recovery technologies

Acting Subject Matter Expert on Backup and Recovery functions

Keep appraised of Backup and Recovery technology changes, advances and enhancements.

Oversight of internal and outsourced Backup and Recovery team(s)

Leverage internal and outsourced Backup and Recovery resources to complete daily operating activities

Work with other teams throughout the enterprise to understand and meet their backup and restore requirements













REQUIRED EDUCATION:

Required Education:



Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science or related experience





Qualifications:



Grade 18 Required experience:

1-3 years managing CommVault Simpana V10 in a multi-tenant, highly virtualized, tapeless environment.

Working knowledge of disaster recovery strategies utilizing CommVault Simpana as the primary recovery method.

Working understanding of CommVault's deduplication and replication processes.

Working understanding of virtual environments (VMware vSphere 6.0 / 5.5 and Microsoft Hyper-V).

Working knowledge of SAN environments utilizing fiber channel protocols for LAN-free backups.

Working knowledge of SQL Server, Exchange, SharePoint, SAP HANA, and Oracle products.

Working knowledge of Deduplication and compressions ratio s of corporate data

Working knowledge of Symantec Backup Exec support and administration experience preferred.

1-3 years capacity planning and performance analysis for Backup and Recovery

Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows server administration

Project management experience including: timeline planning, resource allocation and budget control

Understanding of backup and recovery technologies and practices, including high availability and clustering solutions

Business Impact analysis experience as well as ROI/RTO analysis experience required



Grade 19 Required experience:
