Job Description:

About the Job: As a member of the Data Services Team, the Backup and Recovery administrator will be responsible for the installation and management of the local and enterprise backup and recovery infrastructure. The administrator will routinely engage with the client to ensure backup and recovery needs and expectations are met both for short and long term disaster recovery scenarios. Additionally, the administrator will participate in client staff meetings to understand backup resource requirements, as well as organize and schedule maintenance following an established Change Management process. The administrator will ensure backup resource metrics for capacity planning and reporting are maintained. Communicate with technology vendors to obtain product information, and architect solutions to meet ongoing needs of the organization. Maintain detailed documentation in the areas of expertise (SOP, TTP documents) excellent written and verbal communication skills. Minimum Qualifications: HS + 12 yrs similar experience, or AA/AS + 10, or BS/BA + 8Understanding of ITIL processes and principlesSecurity+ certification required Preferred Qualifications: - 4 years Backup and Recovery administration- 3 years security related work experience- Any of the following certifications: CCENT or higher, VMware VCA, VMware VCP, Symantec Backup and Recovery, EMC Data Domain.- Intermediate knowledge of converged routing/switching hardware and principles.- Hands-on experience supporting Cisco/HP Break/fix actions.- Hands-on experience supporting enterprise class storage arrays and associated Break/fix actions.- Communicate effectively in both oral and written forms with users and office staff- Work independently and as a team lead; set priorities, delegate tasks to team members and organize work to meet deadlines- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted during the course of the work day- Willing to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as necessary- Ability to obtain and maintain Secret-level security clearance- Ability to work rotating shifts.
