Then submit your application to be considered for this fantastic opportunity! The Courtyard by Marriott Cherry Creek is looking for an experienced FULL SERVICE hotel General Manager! Our beautiful 240 room property is located in the stylish shopping and business district of Denver's Cherry Creek. Courtyard Cherry Creek is part of the Marriott portfolio and is managed by Stonebridge Companies. We are conveniently located near the Cherry Creek shopping district, the Denver Zoo, and the University of Denver. For business and social needs, we offer 6,500 sq ft of event space which feature incredible views of downtown Denver and the Rocky Mountains. This property perfectly suits both business and leisure travelers alike. For dining options, we have the classic Courtyard Bistro and a Starbucks coffee. Our ideal candidate will have prior hotel GM experience in a similar hotel size with Cherry Creek market knowledge and a background with Marriott brands. Full Service experience is preferred. The purpose of a BANQUET CAPTAIN is to oversee the set-up and clean-up of food and beverage during banquet functions while continuing to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas. * Supervise food and beverage service throughout banquet functions to ensure quality service and product quality * Assist with the planning, organizing and execution of all banquet functions including, but not limited to, breakfast, coffee breaks, luncheons, dinners and cocktail receptions. * Meet with the Chef and Banquet Manager to review scheduled group's menu and equipment requirements. * Prepare station assignments for Banquet Servers according to group requirements and Hotel standards. * Ensure that assigned staff has reported to work; document any late or absent employees. * Coordinate breaks for assigned staff. * Assign stations and sidework to Servers in accordance with departmental procedures. Communicate additions or changes to the assignments as they arise throughout the shift. * Maintains regular attendance, is consistently on time, and observes prescribed work, break and meal periods in compliance with standards. * Maintains high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include compliance with the dress code. * Performs any other duties as requested by restaurant manager. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Associates degree; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. QUALIFICATIONS * Must have flexibility to work nights and weekends. * Must be able to read and write fluent English. * Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. * Ability to write simple correspondence. * Ability to interpret and perform basic computer and POS system functions. Knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel. SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES Position will supervise banquet staff, in conjunction with the Banquet / Food and Beverage Manager. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment normally entails the following: * Indoor work environment * Minimal to moderate noise levels consistent with hotel environment. * Exposure to certain cleaning chemicals.
