SUMMARY This position is responsible providing efficient and enjoyable food and beverage service to event attendees and all guests reflecting high customer service in order to ensure a positive guest experience. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Prepare room for banquet by assisting in setup of tables, chairs, linens, table settings; maintaining cleanliness of table linens, table settings and glassware; preparing condiments and conducting additional preparation side work as required. Assist guests by offering beverages, describing menu items, identifying wine pairings, answering food preparation questions, delivering selections, inquiring as to guest satisfaction, anticipating additional needs removing courses as completed, replacing utensils as needed Maintain smooth operation of event venue by keeping all work areas clean and safe Assist kitchen staff in delivery of proper food counts by determining the number of food items required Assure safe and timely delivery of food and beverage by practicing efficient use of trays and tray stands. Maintain a pleasant dining atmosphere with professional communication Review the banquet schedule for arrival times and changes in assignment Assist in the placement of food items in a function room for a display or a buffet. Serve banquet meals in the order and to the expectation of the supervisor. Replenish beverages as necessary and check with guest for overall satisfaction Ensure consistency in preparation and presentation of food and drink items before serving to guest Remove dishes promptly as guests complete each course Follow all standard food handling, sanitation and health department guidelines Ensure all food and beverage items have been returned to the kitchen at the conclusion of the event Recognize any problems resulting from guest complaints, intoxication or disruptive behavior Notify management of unsafe conditions, needed maintenance of tables, chairs, or equipment All other duties as requested
