The Part & Parcel Restaurant, located in the Historic Whitehall Hotel is seeking an experienced Bartender to prepare drinks for guests and to serve them in a professional and courteous manner. Drinks will also be prepared for the food and cocktail servers upon request. The position may also involve serving food to the guests. The essential hospitality standards must be used at all times: eye contact, smile, speak first, and engage in polite conversation (if time permits). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Maintain current knowledge of all popular alcoholic beverages and cocktail recipes Prepare all necessary mixers and garnishes prior to start of service and during shift as needed Set up bar service area with all necessary glassware and supplies prior to start of service Clean and restock glassware throughout shift Record all aspects of guest order accurately and enter them into POS system Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to order upon request Monitor guest to prevent over indulgence and ensure safety Inventory all beverages and operation supplies, order replacement items as needed Perform all closing duties, secures all inventory and supplies Other duties as assigned Required Skills and Experience: Two or more years experience as Bartender in a high volume, upscale Hotel or free standing Lounge environment Thorough knowledge of alcoholic beverages, cocktail recipes, preparation methods, glassware, equipment and service; legal aspects of alcoholic beverage service (TIPS Certified or ability to obtain) Exceptional guest service skills Basic computer skills Ability to stand stoop, bend and lift items weighing up to 50 pounds repetitively during entire shift Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays (ref. 17981)
