Benefits Coordinator

Southern Maryland Hospital Center is currently looking to hire a Benefits Coordinator to work in our Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation and/or Cardiac Risk Assessment unit. The general summary of the position is to ensure verification of medical insurance coverage and referral process for each patient. Ensure appropriate documentation is complete in each chart for billing.

Requirements & Qualifications:


High School Diploma/GED

3 to 5 years minimum insurance and billing experience in a healthcare environment

Excellent customer service and communication skills

Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA and Joint Commission regulations
