span We are presently in search for a Benefits Manager - 401k Administrator for our client, a multi- billion dollar manufacturer in the North suburbs, br   br   br Benefits Manager -401K Administrator br   br SUMMARY br The position is responsible for directing and planning the day-to-day operations of the 401K. The administrator also provides excellent customer service. This position requires that incumbents must also exhibit ethical behavior as stewards of the organization. br   br MAJOR RESPONSIBILITY br Serves as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators. Determines the best plan options by working with the third-party administrators. Coordinates transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums and plan administration. Works effectively to make sure the plans run smoothly. Investigates discrepancies and provides information in non-routine situations. Ensures compliance with applicable government regulations. Ensures timeliness and accuracy of required filings. br Handles 401k enrollments, rollovers, distributions, loans, hardships and compliance testing. br Develops and maintains online Outlook Notes forms (e.g., 401k enrollment, HR status change form, HR action form, retirement quotations). br Audits the accuracy and performance of 401k plans. Analyzes the current 401k, evaluating the use, services, coverage, effectiveness, cost, plan experience and competitive trends and identifies the company’s stance. Performs plan audits. Prepares, collects, and organizes data for actuarial assessments. Reviews data in conjunction with actuarial evaluation. Reviews both short- and long-range cost estimates/projections and relevant statistical analyses regarding modifications in 401k programs. Surveys industry trends. br Provides customer service support to internal and external customers. Develops communication tools to enhance understanding of the company’s 401k plan. Designs and distributes materials for orientations and summary plan descriptions. Creates and conducts presentations using audiovisual tools, including PowerPoint and videos. Provides training and support on 401k to management and employees and the field staff. br   br PERSONALLY PERFORMED DUTIES br   br Work with 3rd party administrator on LOA’s, develop recommendations when leaves exhausted br Manage relationship with vendors br Responsible for 5500 (benefit and 401K) br Responsible for leave of absence and 401k audits br Develop corporate training and guidelines for Leave of Absence and 401k Training for leadership and br employees br Coordinate supervisory training in areas of new hire orientation br   br JOB REQUIREMENTS br Education br   br Bachelor’s Degree in HR or equivalent; combination of work experience and education will be considered three to five years of related benefits administration experience br Masters Degree preferred but not required br SHRM-CP and CEBS professional designations. br Overall Related Experience br   br 5 to 10 years progressive experience in pension administration & 401k br SKILLS br   br Project and team management/leadership skills and experience. Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates. Capability of effective planning and priority setting. Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines. br Proven strong analytical and mathematical abilities br Customer focused; Operates with high sense of urgency br Open to changing priorities br Knowledge of the business and organization br Specific HR knowledge and expertise br HR
