Job Description

We have a need for an Intermediate Level Legal Secretary Position:
8:30-5 Monday- Friday. DOE

With a minimum of supervision, performs legal secretarial work of varying degrees of complexity, using all office equipment including word processing equipment. May supervise less experienced secretaries and serves under the Supervising Attorney. Performs heavy pleading and other civil legal work as needed. Responsible for organizing and maintaining office files. Requires an ability to function efficiently in a fast-paced and demanding atmosphere, strong organizational silks, careful attention to detail, as well as flexibility to adapt rapidly to a wide variety of tasks, ability to interact effectively and pleasantly with lawyers, clients, and governmental agencies over the telephone, and a demonstrated commitment to the delivery of legal services to the poor and elderly.

Minimum Qualifications:

*Bilingual employees may be required to interpret/translate for clients in a variety of situations as well as to translate and prepare translation of written documents.
*Must possess excellent computer skills, including, but not limited to the knowledge of WordPerfect, WP Office, Essential forms and case management software.
*Civil case experience a plus.
