JOB DESCRIPTION:

Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented & innovative Biological Process Equipment Engineer to join our Engineering department located at our Fremont, CA facility. The Bio-Pharmaceutical Process Equipment Engineer is responsible for the process equipment readiness including related automation. Major focus on multi-product facility & equipment adaptation as customer products enter the facility for the first time.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Maintain deep technical knowledge of related process steps & associated unit operations. Fully underst& how the process is affected by facility & equipment operation & status
-Manage simple facility & equipment related projects & act as Engineering technical lead on complex facility & equipment related projects
-Design & modify equipment as required to produce desired results per customer product dem&. Expeditious solution development is m&atory
-Create a network of internal & external resources/suppliers that can be deployed in rapid fashion to solve problems or implement solutions
-Monitor equipment performance to ensure production requirements are met
-Create troubleshooting/diagnostic tools to reduce mean time to repair [MTTR]
-Make maintenance plan recommendations to reduce mean time between failures [MTBF]
-Act as the equipment subject matter expert for manufacturing & process science staff when questions arise
-Create curriculum & train operations staff as required to ensure production commences at the desired rate
-Goal is a flexible, compliant, safe, efficient, cost effective, highly available, sustainable, quality focused & reliable manufacturing operation:
-Ensure, establish,implement & improve the process equipment & machineries
-Plan & execute the investment budget & projects with cross-functional teams
-Support the operation team in technical issues
-Achieve EHS company & regulatory requirements & ensure effective maintenance & availability of equipment
-Responsible for CapEx planning & investments
-Technical responsibility of the plant
-Responsible for optimization & compliance
-Responsible for GEN (Global Engineering Network) & st&ardization
-Contribute to Boehringer Ingelheim's knowledge to national & international st&ard committees to represent biopharmaceutical interests & progress
