Book Processing Quality Controller

The Book Processing Quality Controller is responsible for quality auditing of processed product as well as all billing and invoicing of product for the customer. S/he utilizes technical knowledge of book processing in determining acceptable product and reports on off quality material and responsibility. In the event that the work is not sufficient enough to support all QC personnel working on the primary responsibilities, the QC person will proceed to secondary tasks, such as processing, etc.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Operates computer station and various printers as part of normal job.

* Audits processes applied to books by inspecting completed product.

* Documents off-quality product and determines accountability.

* Works at a pace sufficient for work flow output.

* Meet or exceed expected quality standards for the position.

* Performs customer billings and credit memos.

* Communicates interdepartmentally on issues as needed.

* Processes books when there is low demand for quality auditing.

* Uses technical skills and job knowledge to successfully perform the requirements of the Quality Controller position.

Skills

Requirements:

* High school diploma or equivalent.

* Experience in Power7 system.

* Must be able to move carts loaded with books.

* Must be able to lift 25 lbs on occasion.

* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to perform work on PC/CRT.

* Vision requirements include close vision in order to examine product and view PC/CRT screen.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Requires strong attention to detail abilities - focus, concentration.

* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

* Has a comprehensive knowledge of book processing work.

* Basic computer skills.

* Has a good attendance record and is able to work additional hours if required.
