JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB SUMMARY

The building operator will be the primary contact performing and/or coordinating scheduled maintenance for UK Athletic buildings ensuring heating, cooling, mechanical and electrical equipment are running effectively and overall responsibility for day-to-day operations of assigned facilities. This position will report directly to Assistant AD for Facilities.
Duties include but not limited to the following: replace light fixture ballasts and bulbs; repair fixture wiring and connections; replace washers, diaphragms, vacuum breakers and spud washers; faucet handle repair and snake out clogged drains; clean vents and gutters & replace system filters; maintain windscreens, fencing, exterior building gutters, lights and sports equipment; replace old belts; inspect pulleys and sheaves on fans; replace and clean filters and grease fan and motor bearings; pressure washing,& minor painting of facilities & performing minor carpentry repairing tables, benches and other wood constructed items; as well as other duties as assigned.
The building operator will assist with the setup of athletic events and other special projects assigned by Assistant AD for Facilities and must comply with SEC, and NCAA rules and regulations. The building operator must be flexible in work schedule requiring being on-call after work hours and responding to emergencies.

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES

Basic computer skills, thorough knowledge of HVAC and Plumbing, and some electrical knowledge.
