Job Description
Location:Portland, Oregon(500 NE Multnomah St)The Business Analyst-Senior works with Central Decision Support Systems (DSS) staff and customers to support the development of processes that transform source financial, clinical and administrative data in order to support the pricing, profitability and reporting functions of the DSS data warehouse. As part of the Data Acquisition team, this position ensures that DSS has accurate, precise, complete and timely data.This position is responsible for identifying and documenting business processes by reviewing and analyzing existing systems and processes. Articulates interrelationships and recasts business flow into system specifications and may conduct analyses to document discrepancies between business requirements and system capabilities. This position will develop and test change requests and have input into reporting requirements/report development, user interfaces, and coordinating and conducting UAT and the final evaluation of system solutions.Broad-based knowledge of information technology and healthcare delivery and insurance. Ability to use SQL and/or SAS to access and analyze healthcare delivery and insurance data.1. Analysis: Use technical skills (SQL/SAS) and healthcare industry knowledge to analyze healthcare billing and/or claims data2. Specification: Use analyses of sources systems, knowledge of DSS systems/process and healthcare industry knowledge to specify new and enhance existing extracts to fulfill the profitability and pricing information needs of DSS users3. Testing: Work with IT and DSS users to develop and execute tests to ensure that changes to existing processes and/or new processes meet business requirements4. Coordination: Work with IT and DSS users to coordinate the deployment of changes5. Issues Assessment and Resolution: May be responsible for data validation and issue assessment and resolutionQualifications: Basic Qualifications:- Minimum of five (5) to eight (8) years of related professional experience.- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.- Complete understanding and application of concepts, techniques and standards in general business analysis, as well as IT principles and practices.- Skills required: Analysis/documentation of processes, methods, solutions, etc.- Interpretive - translates business processes and requirements into system specifications.- Broad-based knowledge of information technology and applications.Preferred Qualifications- 8 years related professional experience- Complete understanding and application of concepts, techniques and standards in healthcare delivery, insurance and business analysis, as well as IT principles and practices.Skills:- Ability to use SQL and/or SAS to access and analyze healthcare delivery and insurance data- Broad-based knowledge of information technology and healthcare delivery and insurance- Experience and/or certification in Epic Clarity, Resolute Financial or Professional Billing or Xcelys/Diamond claims systems- Experience and/or certification in Epic Clarity, specifically Resolute Professional and/or Hospital Billing and clinical data structures
