A full service $20B+ financial institution in the Central Kansas/Wichita, KS area is seeking a Business Banking Team Leader to support the Bank's mission through will manage a team of relationship officers and/or representatives and will develop and recommend loan portfolio goals for staff, including volume, interest rate, and pricing criteria. A Business Banking Team Leader manages his/her team to seek profitable and sound loan opportunities along with development and implementation of departmental plans in conjunction with the Bank's core values and prescribed sales processes.


* Team prospects clients that generally are between $1MM and $20MM in annual revenue.
* Ensure that the department is adequately staffed and trained to meet current and future bank needs.
* Responsible for providing coaching/career counseling to direct reports and ensuring that succession planning is being addressed for critical roles.
* Participate in community and business functions/groups to ensure a positive image for the bank and to establish referral contacts within the market.
* Lead both the comprehensive management of existing customer relationships as well as soliciting new business opportunities with targeted prospects.
* Actively oversee the management of the team's loan portfolio and serve as the relationship manager between the customer and other areas of the bank in resolving customer problems and meeting the customer's needs.
* Drive teams calling efforts on clients/prospects/referral sources of 250+ calls per year.
* Must be goal-oriented with strong sales skills that will enable them to facilitate and cultivate leads.
* Promote a culture that generates, retains, & expands lending, investment and deposit relationship with new and existing clients through client referrals, centers of influence & direct prospecting.
* Develop, generate and follow-up on new client leads through existing clients, client referrals, COI referrals, & prospecting.
* Provide insight & ideas for enhancing client relationships, client cash flow, profitability, and efficiency.
* Manage the overall credit quality of assigned portfolio (includes sales, credit analysis, loan structuring, client and prospect interviews).
* Monitor & manage existing credit relationship, which includes note renewals, reviewing & detailed analysis of current financial statements & collateral valuations, credit analysis, cash flow analysis, delinquency reporting, documenting exceptions & covenant monitoring, compiling reports necessary to monitor asset & credit quality and compliance with policy/regulation.
* Negotiate loan proposals, analyze & evaluate credit requests & write loan commitments, recommend appropriate credit grade, make oral/written presentation to underwriter or loan committee, and implement approval/declination action.
* Serve as the primary link for all financial services to the individual Business Banking client with the bank (i.e. Treasury Services, International, Trust, and Cash Vault).
* Participate in community & professional activities in order to enhance the banks image and expand personal network of business contacts for development of new business.
* Monitor accounts to identify potential credit problems and assure proper loan documentation. Customers tend to have complicated lending requirements involving term loan agreements, commercial real estate, and revolving credit lines.
* Communicate and collaborate with consistency and transparency with business banking teams and internal partners.

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field
* 5 years proven business banking sales experience
* Ability to manage time effectively to balance new & existing relationships to meet goals
* Ability to prospect and network at various levels within a company
* Demonstrates strong strategic sales knowledge selling to business owners
* Demonstrates proficient level of business banking product knowledge and product innovation
* Knowledge of market/industry trends
* Demonstrates ability to source/produce efficient credit opportunities.
* Knowledge of credit and operational risk-ability to quantify potential exposure and advise team
* Understanding of credit underwriting
* Strong knowledge and understanding of commercial lending practices and loan documentation/loan servicing requirements
* Demonstrates knowledge of financial analysis (including ratio and trend analysis and projections)
* Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
* Demonstrated capacity to sell products/services within the financial services industry
* Strategic sales planning to define target markets, strategic sales approaches, and provide solutions
* Specialized knowledge of specific markets in order to serve defined industries.
* Ability to prospect and network at various levels within a company
