We are looking for a motivated, tenacious, analytical leader to to take our VetSource Analytics Team (VAT) to the next level and drive data consumption initiatives across the organization. Unlike many organizations, this team is not assigned to a particular department and, instead, is allowed the opportunity to test their skills across all areas of our company including but not limited to finance, sales, marketing, pharmacy and other operations, call centers, purchasing and more. The Business Data Analyst Manger that we are looking for will have the skills to drive digestible, results oriented analysis from disparate data locations into consumable, actionable deliverables through both senior level analytical skills and mentoring and performance results of team members. Commitment to data integrity, understanding of complex data analysis methods and communication and team leadership skills with a focus on the user as their customer will be paramount to success. General Summary: The Business Data Analyst Manager is responsible for supporting and overseeing the VetSource Analytics Team (VAT) and data consumption initiatives across the organization. They and their team will provide data analysis from which departments and managers can make data based decisions ranging from financial to sales to operations and beyond. The Business Data Analyst Manger drives access and understanding of data pulled from disparate locations into consumable, actionable deliverables through both senior level analytical skills and mentoring and performance results of team members. This position provides recommendations and data based guidance to senior management on a regular basis. Essential Duties: Include, but are not limited to the following. Management reserves the right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time. Manage strategy and vision of VAT. Define team goals, lead staff to achieving desired results, and be accountable for team performance. Coach, mentor, develop, train, and conduct performance evaluations. Facilitate team meetings, energizing staff to continuously seek new ways of increasing efficiencies. Conduct proactive research, analysis and delivery of key information. Identify business trends and problems using complex data analysis. Interpret statistical analysis to complex data mining independently. Performs exploratory data analysis, including advanced data visualization. Successful delivery of services and projects supporting the business both on time and within budget through proactive team management and leadership. Provides analytical, planning and administrative guidance to VAT team and organizational leaders to assist in the decision making process and implementation. Analyze, mine and model data using statistical methods and implement algorithms and software needed to perform analyses. Develop machine learning tools and other solutions to improve modeling. Identify behaviors, trends, insights and translate findings in a way that can be easily interpreted by others. Communicate findings to business partners, leadership, or other key stakeholders to ensure models are well understood and can be incorporated into business processes. Create digestible reports and analysis views for users. Highly technical, analytical, with experience managing technical teams to provide services that meet the needs of the business today and going forward. Other duties as assigned. Facilitate process improvement projects with the team based on sound data analysis. Proven ability to lead teams toward organizational goals with successful outcomes. Supervisory Responsibilities: Manage and direct the VAT team Oversight of all day to day activities as well as the personnel activities of hiring, conducting quarterly coaching conversations, including review of performance and goal setting for next quarter. Discipline, training and staff development. Meets regularly with staff. Provide staff with feedback regarding performance metrics to include correction action if necessary. Responsible for coaching, mentoring, motivating and retaining staff. Required Education/Experience: 5+ years of data analytics experience. BA in data analytics, economics, math, or similar field. Proficiency with analytics tools. Preferred Education/Experience: Master s Degree or higher Advanced knowledge of Crystal reports and Business Objects. Experience with online dashboards and data delivery. Experience effectively using reporting tools and accessing raw data through SQL and similar programs.
