DNV GL s Business Assurance group is seeking a Business Development Manager - Food & Beverage (Western Region) to take on the responsibility of leading the sales for DNV GL Business Assurance North America s Food & Beverage service line in the Western Territory. This person is responsible for ensuring that the marketing activities are implemented and that the sales actions are carried out by developing contacts and approaching new potential strategic markets and promoting pertinent DNV GL Business Assurance Food & Beverage industry products/services as per the established marketing strategy, tactical plan, and marketing plan.

Tasks May Include

* Leading the full selling process:

* Develop sales plans and forecasts for the territory

* Analyze the local market s needs and expectations

* Provide input regarding the definition and consequent implementation of an adequate marketing strategy

* Ensure that marketing activities are implemented

* Ensure that sales actions are carried out by developing contacts, approaching new potential strategic markets and promoting DNV GL services as per established market strategy and goals

* Close sales according to sales targets

* Prepare and provide activity measurement reports for contacts, sales calls, follow ups, quotes, etc.

* Ensure DNV GL Business Assurance visibility with internal and external clients and customers; manage customer relationships to improve retention; handle and monitor customer feedback and complaints

* Create, promote, and foster a working environment wherein all sales personnel participate in the improvement of sales processes for the territory

* Assess, on a continual basis, the financial results of the activity and provide input regarding price policy for the activities within the territory

* Work with the Territory Manager and other team members to ensure achievement of sales targets in alignment with strategic objectives

* Participate in food sector events and fairs as attendant or panelist

* Other responsibilities as assigned by management


Position Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business Administration or Life Sciences (Food Engineering, Biochemistry, or Veterinary Science preferred)

* 3 years of ingredients and/or food safety sales experience required

* 5 years of experience preferred

* Experience in the ISO Certification industry a plus

* Willing and able to travel up to 75% within the region (and periodically outside of the region for training and/or other purposes)

* Valid, state-issued, driver license required

* Ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds required

* Strong written and verbal English communication skills
