The Business Development Manager (BDM) Role is responsible for business opportunity creation and identification for the Electronic Systems Segment (ESS) C4I Systems Business Unit. The ability to create and execute new SATCOM market entry strategies, quickly establish and build new relationships, and articulate innovative value propositions are critical in meeting our SATCOM terminal growth expectations. The BDM is responsible for developing and managing relationships between the organization and potential customers by establishing and cultivating relationships with key individuals at target US government, international and military organizations. They are also responsible for achieving business targets as outlined by management. Duties & Responsibilities:* Opportunity Creation -developing a creative value proposition to customers based on their needs or market feedback to uniquely position our business for an opportunity before a formal, competitive procurement is underway.* Business Strategy- in partnership with Business Development Leadership, responsible for creating, identifying, pursuing, and closing business opportunities & initiatives by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; and evaluating probability of success to maximize resource investments. Gathers market intelligence and industry trends to provide business leads with an understanding of the competitive landscape.* Business Acumen- creates and fosters a culture of business acumen in the commercial and defense areas; embracing a strategic, proactive approach in supporting business area leaders with identifying, actively pursuing and closing new markets, customers, and business opportunities.* Data Analytics- develops metrics and tracks/evaluates performance of sales, program opportunities, and strategic initiatives.* Change Agent- acts as the change engine for the business, ensuring innovations and developments are led to successful implementation of pursuits. Bringing forward creative, entrepreneurial business cases to support new new market entry.* Presentation Preparation -overall responsibility for the creation of business strategies pertinent to his/her portfolio. Outlines processes and leads creation of all pertinent related presentation materials to the BA and BU leaders. Partners with Business Area and Business Development Leadership on a consistent approach and assists in the creation when necessary for presentations from the Business area to Leadership. Qualifications:* Undergraduate degree required with 10+ years of experience in SATCOM related markets, entrepreneural business cases, and opportunity creation.
* At least 7 years experience with tactical SATCOM opportunities and mission needs are required. Additional Preferred Qualifications:* Strong quantitative, analytical, and communication skills.* At least 7 years experience with large terminals nd basic Network Management CONOPS is preferred.
