Job Description

We are looking for an exceptional senior analyst with a passion for data, analytics, and entertainment to join our Entertainment Business Intelligence team. The Entertainment Business Intelligence team is at the core of strategic and operational decisions for the world's #1 broadcast network online.

The successful candidate should enjoy combining analytical and technical skills with business acumen to help guide the future of television online. In this role, you will use your quantitative training to help develop insights based product portfolio for TV entertainment. In addition, you will work with the Entertainment and Lifestyle properties (e.g. CBS.com, TV.com, CHOW) to support key business decisions, mine audience insights, and develop a keen analytics instinct about the business. The analyst will work with cross-functional teams to develop solutions, propose reporting requirements, and provide day-to-day stakeholder support from a variety of rich, complex data sources. Job Description/Responsibilities:

-Perform data mining, analysis and reporting to support product, research, sales, market intelligences, and management teams
-Perform various statistical analyses using data drawn from diverse sources to map and identify genuine trends and relationships
-Ability to work with and analyze large amounts of data with the intent of producing models that predict a given user behavior or preference
-Develop data programs to educate effective product development and optimization
-Design, develop, and administer reports, dashboards and reporting portals that will integrate multiple data sources within a single interfaceRequired Skills/Experience-Bachelor's or Master's degree in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, or equivalent quantitative training
-2-5 years working experience with strong analytical and problem-solving skills involving data mining and machine learning, data and predictive modeling, data integration methodologies, and data warehousing
-Extensive experience querying large, complex data sets; proficient with relational database (Oracle, Netezza, Teradata, Hive/Hadoop) and spreadsheets (i.e. Excel) is essential
-Proficient in advanced SQL and with analytics tools (R, SAS, S+, MATLAB)
-Experience with web analytics (Google Analytics, Omniture, etc)
-Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and to meet changing deadlines and priorities on multiple simultaneous projects
-Must be detail-oriented and focused on data accuracy
-Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate and present data and information
-Build strong working relationships with coworkers, customers, and company management
-Must successfully pass a background check

Pluses:

-Experience with programming languages (PHP, C, Perl, Python, etc) a strong plus
-Experience with Microstrategy desktop and OLAP services a strong plus
-Experience with internal and external APIs (Google, Facebook, Twitter, etc)
-Passion for video, social networking, advertisement, and digital entertainment industry
