Business System Analyst - O&G Land SME - Dallas, TX Position Description Business Systems Analyst /O&G Land SME: CGI is currently hiring a Business Systems Analyst / O&G Land SME based either in our Houston, TX office or our Dallas, TX office.The ability to travel is a must, travel is around 25%.Responsibilities:Plans, organizes, and conducts business process reengineering/improvement projects and/or management reviews of requirements. Determines operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats. Will work closely with management, development team, and clients in a global team environment to maintain, enhance, and support the Oil & Gas / Trust Land applications. Candidate will oversee all areas of product support and coordinating development including, but not limited to, negotiating demos to prospective and existing clients, coordinating and testing releases, leading client focus group meetings, and training. Overseeing asset set up and verification of division of interest; understanding and clearing title issues; working with gas balancing agreements and Joint Operating Agreements.Defines and documents customer business functions and processes during interview sessions. Acts as a liaison between the customer and our development, testing and quality teams. Assists in developing reviews an overall change management strategy for each new module or enhancementsParticipates in system and user acceptance testing and testing of new/enhancement functionality.Skills:Analytical skills required, to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a more general understanding, distinguish presented user requests from the underlying true needs, and distinguish solution ideas from requirements.Strong English communication and writing skills required in order to translate information effectively to customers, product/development managers, and technical staff.Organizational skills required in order to work with the vast array of information gathered during the requirement gathering process.Interpersonal skills required, to help negotiate priorities and to resolve conflicts among project stakeholders (such as customers, product management, and testing manager).Modeling skills required in order to represent requirements information in graphical forms including using modeling languages already established in the development organization.Qualifications: Mandatory -Knowledge of Land Lease and Land Management, as it pertains to legal description, legal obligation, ownership and encumbrances. Mandatory -Knowledge of mapping as it pertains Land Management and Land Ownership At least 10-15 years of solid/proven business and technical experience developing and implementing software requirements Mandatory -User of O&G Land software Formal training and/or designation related to requirements gathering and business analysis techniques. A background in application development would be a definite asset Interviewing skills, work with customers about their needs and ask the right questions to surface essential requirement information. Computer literate including Word and Excel. Bank property management experience a plus Knowledge of SQL, and any query tools a plus Basic level technical understanding of computer systems a plus Ability to work with a Global Development team a must.Education:BS or MS in Business/Computer Science/MIS/Finance/Accounting or other related techncial degree strongly preferred Your future duties and responsibilities Required qualifications to be successful in this role At CGI, we're a team of builders.
