Business Systems Analyst (Job #3097)

PLANIT Technology Group is currently seeking a Business Systems Analyst for our client in Virginia Beach, VA.

The Business Systems Analyst is the liaison between the business stakeholders and the development team. They are responsible for managing, executing, and delivering results.

Key responsibilities:
* Interfacing with business users to gather requirements
* Managing expectations of the business users

Qualifications
* This person must leverage prior experience to frame business problems, analyze alternatives, and design business and technology solutions.
* The position requires knowledge and experience using formal methodologies and structured analysis techniques.
* Developing supporting documentation including business and technical requirements, functional specifications, user and operations manuals, and test plans
* Effective leadership and team interaction skills are a must, including the ability to plan and organize work for self, the ability to make formal and informal presentations, and the ability to communicate effectively in business terms.
* Managing business meetings for projects to gain buy in from management and business users
* Collaborating with development teams to define business solutions
* The position requires a strong grasp of IT industry trends and their applicability to business processes.
* Passion for quality, tempered by business understanding so the appropriate emphasis is given to both test execution and defect handling.
* Experience with triaging bugs identified outside of a specific project/release cycle.
* Confidence to raise issues where the letter of the specification is met, but the spirit does not seem to be. Understanding the BA and/or the business user gets to make the final call on whether the issue is 'real'.
* Experience with test harnesses such as Storm/SOAPUI, testing/viewing XML transactions etc. to help identify not only that a defect exists, but where the defect is occurring.
* Ability to provide guidance and support to other testers - whether IT, QA or Business User.
