SUMMARY Contact representative of corporate, travel agent, consortia and mega-agencies to solicit business for the hotel. Plans and administers sales calls, leads, solicitations and programs to foster and promote hotel patronage by performing the following duties: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reviews information on all overnight travel and other functions held by organization members to select prospective customers for hotel services.. Calls on prospects to solicit business, analyze requirements, outlines available hotel facilities and services offered and quotes prices. Verifies reservations by letter or draws up contract and obtains signatures. Confers with customer and hotel department heads to plan any specific account requirements. Consults newspapers, hotel intelligence, past history from Delphi, internet, trade journals, and other publications to learn about contemplated conventions and social functions. Organizes prospect files by listing information, such as names of officials and plans for conventions, to be used for promotional purposes. Directs workers engaged in preparing promotional correspondence with travel bureaus, business and social groups. Confers with department heads to discuss and formulate plans for soliciting business. Contacts executives of organizations to explain services and facilities offered by hotel and attempts to solicit their business. Supervises and trains administrative assistants and co-managers as needed.
