JOB DESCRIPTIONThe buyer will analyze demand/MRP data to determine optimal safety stock, inventory levels, and order quantities utilizing supply base and commodity specific knowledge. Develop and maintain supplier relationships, new sources, obtain quotations and conduct negotiations with suppliers. Makes timely purchasing transactions that achieve company quality, schedule, cost, and strategic objectives. Works with internal organizations and suppliers to continuously reduce costs and inventory levels. Determines root causes of any material shortages and implements solutions. Resolves quality issues with purchased materials and deploys corrective process improvements. Monitors Status reports and takes action as required to support both site and corporate requirements.
Candidate will focus on procurement of designated commodities. Work closely with sales team for detailed forecast data and take advance action as required to support customer schedules. This individual must be able to communicate effectively with the top level management of our supply base and will also be responsible for minimizing excess inventory.
Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree preferred
Minimum 3-5 years experience in manufacturing purchasing and materials control, or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
PCB Material Procurement experience preferred but not essential.
Excellent Microsoft Office Skills
Strong relationship building skills with key suppliers.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/deadlines and deliver high quality results.
Strong Negotiation skills.
Strong analytical background (analyzing inventory/inventory management.)
This is a 1st shift position 7:00am - 3:30pm. Must be able to work all required overtime.
