Job Description:

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY: The Buyer Planner is responsible for coordinating production material activities, this implying the execution and creation of the production plans, work orders and purchase orders as required, in a manner that is consistent with the company values and operating philosophy. ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1) Develop and maintain an overall Production Plan, including the Inventory Strategy. Releases work orders and purchase orders as required to maintain the Plan. Provides functional reports indicating the performance of the Production Plan. Ensure adequate availability of materials required for the aftermarket service, parts and warranty activities. 2) Professionally and ethically negotiate agreements with Vendors. Maintains relationships with key suppliers. 3) Consult with the Quality and Engineering Departments to ensure purchases comply with technical specifications, terms and conditions are fair, and appropriate warranty is in place to protect Fulton s interests. 4) Utilize world class manufacturing techniques to ensure continuous improvement in quality, productivity and delivery. Achieve cost savings and inventory turns goals. Participate in operations Kaizen events to improve profit margin and efficiency. 5) Demonstrates understanding of market trends and latest technologies and use the information to improve profit margin and efficiency for Fulton. QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Certifications and Required Experience): 1) Associates Degree in Business or Related Field- Preferred 2) CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) certification preferred 3) Minimum of 2 years experience in purchasing or planning function required. 4) Fluency with Microsoft Office Applications DEMONSTRATED CRITICAL COMPETENCIES: 1) Building Collaborative Relationships The ability to develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships with others inside and outside the organization who can provide information, assistance and support. 2) Initiative Identifying what needs to be done and doing it before being asked or before the situation requires it. 3) Forward Thinking The ability to anticipate the implications and consequences of situations, and take appropriate action to be prepared for possible contingencies. 4) Managing Change The ability to demonstrate support for innovation and organizational changes needed to improve effectiveness and performance. 5) Communication The ability to ensure information is passed on to others who should be kept informed, to express oneself clearly in conversation, interaction with others, and in business writing. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 1) Walking: Ability to walk the manufacturing floor for extended periods of time. 2) Noise: The worker is subject to noise on a regular basis and shouting may be required to be heard above noise level; hearing protection. 3) Sitting: The body is supported by buttocks and back and employee needs to remain seated for extended periods of time.
