Act-1 Group is looking for a full-time contract employee to work onside at Bonneville Power Administration (BPA), located in Vancouver, Washington. This CAD 3 position which works closely with architects, mechanical engineers and other CAD staff. This position will also work actively with other internal BPA engineering disciplines: civil, structural, electrical, telecommunications, environmental and real estate.

Position Responsibilities include but not limited to:
? Use Microstation CAD software and equipment to prepare project designs, sketches, final working drawings and contract documents for building contractors.
? Perform duties essential to the preparation of engineering design drawings for Civil, Line Design, Substation Design, Telecommunication Design, Fiber Optic Design, including details, assemblies, installations, minor layouts, and parts lists.
? Complete special assignments such as preparing detailed installation diagrams, drafting structure modifications, creating complex design drawings, including standard hardware details and other facilities projects as specific needs are identified.
? Perform sub-system user file management within CAD systems, such as plotting, printing, and storage.
? Evaluate contractual Architectural, Mechanical and other engineering discipline?s working drawings at various stages of completion for adherence and compliance with design scope, conceptual design sketches, and established policies, providing input and recommendations as needed.
? Collaborate with other staff members in preparing drawings and specification documents.
? Provide status updates upon request. Status reports may include a brief summary of activity and project progress.
? Participate in periodic status meetings with the Facilities Engineering manager. Agenda items may include review of specific assignments, status of projects, provision of information, guidance and course corrections as needed, and adjustment of task priorities.
? Conduct research and provide reports on specific topics or projects as requested.
? Participate in the research, planning, design, and administration of building projects for clients, applying knowledge of design and construction procedures and building materials.
? Conduct periodic on-site observations of work during construction to monitor compliance with plans.
? Review, distribute and file submittals, shop drawings, material data and samples.
? In preparation of the final working drawings, assist the Architect-Engineer in coordination of structural, mechanical, electrical, telecommunications and civil disciplines through all phases of design and construction document preparation.
? Work on conceptual sketches, preliminary and final design documents relating to:
? Equipment Layouts
? Building Functions
? Construction Materials
? Structural Determinations
? Mechanical and Electrical Considerations
? Geographical and Climatic Conditions
? Historical Requirements
? Energy Efficient Design Considerations
? Maintain a thorough familiarity with industry and BPA design standards, acting as a primary TESF Point of Contact for facilities engineering design drawings and modifications.
? Coordinate with and, as needed, may delegate assignments or provide guidance to lower-level CAD support staff.
