The primary focus of the Corporate Applications Engineer (CAE) is to support the deployment and usage of Synopsys HAPS Prototyping Hardware Products. As a HAPS CAE, you will help customers deploy HAPS HW platforms and will occasionally participate in pre-sales activity, including technical presentations, and will work with the Applications Consultant (AC) to solve customer problems. You will also work closely with the R&D to find solutions for technical issues seen in the field and will recommend and drive improvements in product capabilities and quality. You will be part of a team of expert engineers, among the most knowledgeable in the world with FPGAs.
Strong communication skills are required. You should be proficient with UNIX, HDL (Verilog/VHDL) and have a strong FPGA background including experience with FPGA implementation. Experience using common lab equipment, such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers is important. Knowledge of ASIC prototyping and emulation techniques and technologies is beneficial. Understanding of FPGA technologies like Xilinx or Altera will be a significant plus and knowledge of scripting/programming skills (TCL/PERL, C/C++) is strongly preferred.
Education & Experience
BSEE or equivalent with 7 years of experience, or MSEE or equivalent with 5 years of experience. This person should independently resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways on a regular basis and customarily exercise independent judgment in selecting methods and techniques to obtain solutions. This person determines and develops approaches to solutions and can work both independently and collaboratively.
This role doesn't generally require travel.
