Missile Defense and Protective Systems \(MDPS\) serves as Northrop Grumman Mission Systems' focal point for all activities associated with missile defense, including Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications \(C2BMC\), simulation & modeling, systems engineering, and target discrimination\.The C2BMC Network Engineer position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO\.Network Engineer on the C2BMC program will focus on the detailed design, development, and implementation the communication network design architecture to add new capabilities to the C2BMC system including, GIFC, Sensor netting, Test, Training, and Operations, and Network management\. Candidate will support the national team Network development process to ensure a structured development process and the required design documentation\. Candidate may develop deliverable documents and perform document reviews\. Strong teamwork, collaboration, verbal and written presentation skills are required\. * Basic Qualifications:

*
* + Bachelor of Science in the Computer Science field \(i\.e\. EE, CIS, CPE, MIS, IT\) and 9 years of Network experience, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree\.+ Must possess a DoD 8570 certification at IAT Level II or higher \(Security , GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA\)\. Candidate will be responsible to maintain DoD 8570 certification for the full contract period\.+ Experience with network security capabilities such as Firewalls \(McAfee and Juniper\)SYSLOG NG, IBM Proventia Intrusion Detection Systems \(IDS\), web proxy\.+ Understanding of network communication protocols and network routing protocols \(BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP\) and IP network troubleshooting\. Experience in UDP multicast, SONET, MSPP, ATM, VLANs, GRE Tunnels, and TCP/IP network designs\.+ Must be an effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing tools\. Must be responsible to work independently / solo at times on large in the field projects, at other times will be in a collaborative team environment with other network engineers\.+ Familiarity with communication products including Cisco routers, switches, Cisco IOS, Juniper router, switches, firewalls and JUNOS operating systems, Domain Name Servers \(DNS\), Sidewinder firewalls, and data encryption products including the KG\-175 TACLANE\. Proven Communication Network Communication in the DoD environment\.

* + Top Secret clearance is a plus\.+ Certifications in the industry vendors Cisco \(CCNA, CCNP\) and/or Juniper \(JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP\) components preferred\.+ The following are experiences that are positives / pluses for the candidate, but not required for filling the position\.+ If individual has any prior knowledge of the C2BMC networks or organization\.+ If candidate has knowledge, skill sets or experience using protocol analyzers/sniffers \(such as Wireshark, Network General\)\.+ Experience in DoD authentication & encryption methods/capabilities \(Taclanes, TACACS , RADIUS, Active Directory, GEM\-X\)\.+ Experience in Network Management Systems \(HP OpenView\) or NAS/SAN technologies \(NetApp or Gigastore\)\.+ Systems, Domain Name Servers \(DNS\), Sidewinder firewalls, and data encryption products including the KG\-175 TACLANE\.+ Proven Communication Network Engineering in the DoD environment\.+ Knowledge of MDA and the BMDS\.+ Pluses include familiarity with DoD message standards \(MIL\-STD\-3011 App C\), Link 16 or Mil StD 6016 B or C, experience with multicast, high availability designs, experience with network management systems, and experience with network drawing tools such as Visio\.Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce\.
