Job Description
CER Division Project Engineer Summary:
Responsible for design through delivery and turnover of specialty subcontractor construction projects and all financial objectives associated.Reports to:
Division Manager Supervises:
No one Internal Key Contacts:
Field Foreman, Project Manager & Construction Coordinator External Key Contacts:
Client, General Contractor, Sales Reps, Fabricators, and Subcontractors.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:- Assist Division Manager with project design; provide pre-construction documentation, component schematics and controls, and generate completion/turnover packages.
- Assist in preparation of project schedule and workflow with Project Manager and Construction Coordinator. Includes:
- Meet with team to transition project from sales to pre-construction phase- Prepare and submit shop drawings, material cut sheets and MSDS- Provide special fabrication equipment drawings and documentation for quotation- Correct/release equipment for fabrication- Organize installation, start-up, commissioning & Inspection documentation- Create and implement systems controls schematics and logic programming- Project completion stage Documentation & Training
- Process and follow-up on construction phase Field Information Requests.
- Assist client and/or general contractor with field questions and problems.
- Maintain pre-construction project templates.
- Review project specific requirements with General Contractor and Subcontractors.
- Perform pre-mobilization walk-through with Client/General Contractor, Project Manager and field management personnel.
- Provide training on design and use of equipment.
- Provide documentation of requirements to meet project scheduled installation and start-up dates.
- Deliver Operation and Maintenance documentation and review warranty procedures and close-out of project.
- Review and process construction change orders.
- Assist PM in pricing and purchase of all buy-out and special order equipment.
- Maintain constructive relationship with vendors.
- Assist Project Manager with issues concerning project engineering, installation, completion punch-list issues and inspections.
- Coordinate and provide as-built drawings and closeout documentation. QUALIFICATIONS Education:- Minimum:
Bachelor's Degree Mechanical Engineering.
- Preferred:
Strong electrical engineering beneficial Experience:- Minimum:
Five (5) plus years large project management experience, construction/architectural experience preferred. Multiple projects management experienced required.

PMP certification beneficial. Skills: - Minimum:
Excellent written and verbal communication, prioritization, negotiation, customer relationship and management experience.
Knowledge: - Minimum:
Ability to read commercial construction blueprints and specifications (CSI format); read and write ladder type electrical schematics (IEEE), strong proficiency in AutoCAD (ACAD release 2002 and newer).
- Preferred:
SolidWorks proficiency beneficial; accomplished in Microsoft Word/Excel, Project and Adobe Acrobat. Working knowledge of Ladder logic for controls automation is highly beneficial. Abilities:- Minimum:
Extremely organized and capable of tracking, managing and resolving issues on multiple projects simultaneously.
Travel:- Minimum:
Occasional out-of-town requirements Monday thru Friday, typically 1 ~ 2 days.
Language Ability:- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Math Ability:- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
