This position will remain open until filled.


The EMR Application Analyst will actively contribute to an innovative team dedicated to establishing a new foundation for advancing clinical delivery and quality outcomes. Incumbent will fulfill multiple roles throughout the development, implementation, management, and on-going support of UCSD Medical Center's enterprise EMR (Epic). The incumbent will work closely with the project team's senior application analysts and clinical leaders to translate orders and charge capture workflows into EMR functionality.

Incumbent will build data sets, master files and reports, perform quality assurance and integrated testing, and release new functionality to end-users. Will be responsible for reviewing vendor software releases and updates to test features desired and then implement them within UCSD Medical Center's system(s). Incumbent will assist in maintaining current test and training environments. Will provide 7/24 problem management support and resolution for clinical systems.



Epic certifications in Orders, Order Transmittal, Charge Router or Hospital Billing/ Resolute and build experience in these areas.

Experience and proven success in information systems development within a large-scale healthcare organization.

Background and experience that provides understanding of healthcare operations and basic clinical care delivery.

Demonstrated experience and proven expertise in problem-solving and troubleshooting techniques.

A Bachelor's Degree; or equivalent experience.

Proven ability in specification development, quantitative methods, system documentation and change management.

Proven ability to effectively use vendor-provided and/or other computing tools to tailor systems and applications to meet specifications and user requirements.

Ability to plan and organize day-to-day activities along with short and long-term projects.


Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
