JOB DESCRIPTIONPURPOSE OF POSITION:
CNC Programming of race engine components is the main focus of the position, reporting to the functional leader of Manufacturing Engineering. This position may also provide fixture design, tool design, manufacturing and quality process planning as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
Comply with all company and departmental policies and procedures.
Take responsibility for and assume single point of accountability in developing and maintaining first run NC production programs that meet close tolerance specifications and production schedule need dates in support of company Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) metrics and goals.
Provide technical information, plans and instructions concerning machining, manufacturing and quality inspection techniques, materials, process advantages and limitations.
Maintain and control process documentation to include NC process flowcharts, work holding fixture drawings, edit free NC programs, machine operator instructions, machine tool lists and quality inspection plans. Update and issue revised manufacturing and quality documentation as required.
Actively identify and understand engineering and machining process problems, including machine efficiency.
Take appropriate countermeasures toward problem resolutions, root cause analysis and best practice procedures to avoid recurrence.
Maintain safe operations by adhering to all safety procedures and regulations.
Meet commitments, work independently, accept accountability, handle changes, set personal standards, stay focused under pressure, and meet attendance/punctuality requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
B.S., Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience relating to this position.
5-10 years' experience in metal removal process with strong focus on multi-axes milling.
5 years' programming experience with strong focus on multi-axes milling using Pro/Mfg or Delcam PowerMill.
Minimum of 1 year expierence with multi-axes high speed machining of aluminum.
Experienced user of Vericut simulation software with ability to setup your own Vericut sessions.
Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings with strong knowledge of GD&T.
Demonstrated experience in manufacturing engineering with strong focus on NC programming.
Demonstrated experience using lean principles and problem solving techniques.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
