The Console Operator demonstrates excellent customer service performance in that his/her attitude and actions are at all times
consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission and Values of Covenant HealthCare and the commitment to Extraordinary Care for Every Generation.This individual is responsible for the answering of phone calls placed to Covenant Healthcare switchboard & Physician Answering Services. The individual also monitors alarm systems and pages emergency procedures.
Contributes to organization success targets for net operating margin.

Demonstrates excellent customer service.
Under the direction of the Manager of Information Systems, receive and handle all incoming calls, efficiently & courteously.
Record and relay messages for Physician Answering Service, Page employees and physicians using various hospital paging systems. Including Vocera Alert
Maintain call schedules for Physicians Answering Service Physicians groups and various hospital departments
Page all emergency procedures overhead also using various hospital paging systems, including Vocera Alert and Net presenter
Monitor alarms systems and makes appropriate response.
Take calls/messages for the Helpdesk and Bio Med, page accordingly after business hours
Dispatch interpreter phones and hearing impaired laptops to the appropriate patients/campuses/nursing units
Other duties as assigned
Perform clerical duties as necessary
High school diploma or GED required.
Previous Switchboard or Console Operator experience preferred.
Computer competency, Basic Personal Computer skills (keyboard & mouse, starting/stopping applications, minimizing/maximizing windows, etc.
Knowledge of standard office equipment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Pleasant speaking voice with clear and distinct enunciation
Demonstrated organizational skills.
Good clerical skills.
Typing speed of at least 35 WPM.
Sound judgment in handling confidential or sensitive issues and material.
Ability to multi-task.
