CRE Finance Manager - Americas NY

Job Description Summary

This individual will own the close process for the US and will be accountable for the financial integrity, reporting and presentation of financial information as well as the maintenance of a robust controls environment for the US Region. He or she will be responsible for compliance with local laws and regulations in the US, as applicable, as well as the reporting/filing requirements by staying current with existing legislation as well as anticipating future legislation. The individual will be accountable for the review and filing of regulatory and statutory reporting requirements for the US Region and will coordinate with the US tax team for tax related matters. He or she will ensure that the US Region is in compliance with the Americas and the Global Finance policies and liaise with the internal, external and tax auditors for regional related matters.

Job Description



KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:



* Partner with the outsourcing team on the daily accounting procedures, the close process (including review and approval of retained activities) as well as on reporting requirements and business support

* Accountable for the US month-end and year-end close processes

* Review monthly/quarterly/semi-annual and annual reporting deliverables to the Americas Senior Regional Controller

* Manage and comply with local and state reporting requirements and filings as it relates to the captive insurance subsidiary and the broker dealer subsidiary and review the related financial information on a monthly basis

* Maintain/review the loss run and actuarial reserves as it relates to the captive insurance company by partnering with legal, risk management, outside actuaries as well as the BPO team

* Partner with the business and the BPO team on the review of the financial information related to the broker dealer subsidiary

* Oversee the internal and external audit processes as it relates to the US and coordinate with the outsourcing team

* Responsible for compliance with Sarbanes Oxley Act

* Liaise with the Americas Controllership team on the implementation and ongoing support of global policies and procedures, significant accounting policies, and other related checklists and tools

* Evaluate operating procedures in terms of control, efficiently and quality of output. Develop policies, procedures and process improvements and coordinate with the GPOs, the BPO Manager as well as the Senior Regional Controller

* Act as the liaison between the business / FP&A and the BPO team for accounting support

* Provide analytical support to local management as required



JOB REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:



Education:



* Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or an equivalent



Previous Experience:



* 6+ years of proven experience in a controllership team with progressive responsibility

* Experience working in a large organization and in dealing with big four accounting firms

* Knowledge of accounting principles, mainly per US GAAP

* Sarbanes-Oxley compliance experience

* Exposure to multiple functional areas



Certifications:



* Certified Public Accountant (CPA) (a plus)

* Series 99 - Operations Professional Qualification Examination (OS)
