* Job Summary \(Role Summary\)

* The Product Owner is a critical role at InterContinental Hotels Group and will have overall implementation accountability for the successful development of IHG s Web Products key, prioritized products\. Working closely with stakeholders, a Product Manager, Scrum Master and the web development team, the Product Owner must have an excellent grasp of business strategy and be able to use that knowledge to make rapid, tactical decisions\. The role will elicit requirements and aggregate input from stakeholders and others, construct user stories and acceptance criteria, prioritize stories according to their business value and technical effort, maintain and communicate the backlog for specific products and projects, participate in all scrum meetings, and accept or reject the user stories based on the delivery team s output\. The Product Owner will also help prioritize release scope and dates, and monitor and report on progress\. The Product Owner would be a hybrid:
someone who is able to look outward, understanding the end customer s needs, and someone who looks inward, managing the value stream that transforms the stakeholders needs into software ready to be used by the end customer\. Possessing the innate ability to navigate IHG s large organization, the Product Owner will manage stakeholders who are not only customers, but who also provide operational support, development functions\. The Product Owner must have the ability to set and manage priorities judiciously\.*
* The Web Products Product Owner is responsible for:

* Establishing a clear vision and Release Plan for the product\(s\)\. Define, prioritize, and clarify requirements; work with others to understand use cases, features, business and technical domain rules and overall product goals\. Build and groom product backlog\(s\)\. Create and groom short\-, medium\-, and long\-term product roadmaps\. Collaborate with the Scrum Master to run successful Release Planning and Sprint Planning sessions, as well as Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives\. Accepting or rejecting the delivery team s work results; ensuring development decisions stay aligned with business needs, and any issues that arise are addressed as quickly as possible\. Provides day\-to\-day tactical objectives, and provides quick, JIT decisions to system level questions and defect triage\. Working with the project manager, product manager, and/or project sponsor to ensure proficient knowledge of product s vision and project s scope\. Eliciting business/solution needs using varying methods to translate into user stories with specific, measureable, attainable, realizable and testable acceptance criteria\. Identifying ways to assist product management in product planning through user story development and analysis\. Propose new product features and updates\. Ensure product development budgets are spent in a way that maximizes IHG s return on investment while minimizing business risk\. Work with product management to determine the profitability of each product feature based on the cost to develop versus the forecast revenue\.*

* Education
*
* Bachelor s or Master s Degree in relevant field of work or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience\.*
* Experience
*
* 5 years of experience with ecommerce and/or web\-development solutions\. Has worked with multiple software development lifecycle methodologies, including Scrum\. Worked as a business analyst and/or product manager, and had some exposure to project management\. Must demonstrated proficiency in customer\-focused organizations or hotel management\.*
