CV EARLY DETECTION & SCREEN RN
The CV Early Detection & Screening RN coordinates cardiac and vascular screening events with other health care facilities around Nebraska and with local industries and organizations. Promotes and implements online heart and vascular risk assessment programs, including HeartAware and VascularAware. Provides patient education, risk assessment and lifestyle modification in the area of cardiovascular disease.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
*Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.
*Communicates with other staff and departments involved with Mobile Screening Services, including noninvasive cardiac and vascular coordinators, Bryan Scheduling Center, Public Relations department, Community Education event coordinators, and fleet services.
*Initiates and maintains contact with rural health care facilities in promotion and implementation of screening events.
*Initiates and maintains contact with corporations and local companies who may be interested in offering screening events to their employees at the worksite.
*Responsible for obtaining cash float money and making financial deposits upon completion of each screening event.
*Creates and / or maintains supply of appropriate patient education materials specific to screening events.
*Implements the online risk assessment programs, HeartAware and VascularAware, which includes management of patient follow-up consultation schedule, performing consultations for high risk individuals, providing finger-stick cholesterol screening and blood pressure screening; explores patient risk factors, provides education about risk modification, makes referral to primary care providers as appropriate, and conducts one month phone or email follow-up with high risk individuals.
Current Registered Nurse licensure from the State of Nebraska or approved compact state of residence as defined by the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act. Bachelors of Science in Nursing or related field preferred. Minimum of three (3) years clinical nursing experience including coronary critical care experience required. Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required.
