JOB DESCRIPTION

Kern County area - Bakersfield CA base of operations.

We are seeking a qualified Low Voltage Cable Installer with at least one (1) year of experience pulling cable.

In this position, you must be familiar with CAT 5, 5s, 6, and fiber optic cable installation and safety procedures and practices

Local travel to customer sites and occasional overnight (in the Central CA region) travel. You will be installing small, medium and large cable projects while working with Cat 5e, Cat 6, Cat6A, Fiber, RG6, installing cameras, and certifying cables while working on a crew and independently.

*Desire to work in various environments, service situations and dynamic conditions.
*Ability to troubleshoot various situations in an efficient manner, solve problems, attention to detail, exceptional customer service, and communicate well.
*Prepare/install cable pathways and supports
*Ability to read a floor plan and install cable without added instruction
*Terminate cable on jacks at the station end
*Terminate cable on 66M150, BIX, 110 and patch panels at the distribution frame
*Operate test equipment: toners, trackers, pair checkers, butt sets, and cable scanners
*Be familiar with cross-connection and testing of telephones and computers
*Install public address systems
*Install security systems
*A willingness to learn established standards and keep an open mind.
*Availability for overtime as it is frequently required
*Attendance and punctuality are essential to the performance of this position

Understanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide IT services

Typing skills to ensure quick and accurate entry of service request details

Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast moving environment

Ability to travel to client locations on a regular basis

Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
