GENERAL SUMMARY: The role of the PROJECT MANAGER is to initiate, plan, execute, and finalize the technology component implementations for assigned projects within established budget and schedule. Utilizing standard Rush project management methodologies, and under the supervision of the Senior PM, the incumbent will manage the efforts of all team members (organizational resources and engaged third party vendors/consultants) to deliver technology components according to project scope and goals. The appropriate application of and/or rigor of methodology processes and deliverables utilized is based upon the scope and complexity of technologies as identified during project initiation/discovery. The Project Manager will also oversee relevant quality control and report progress throughout the project life cycle. In most situations, assigned technology implementations will be components associated with organizational construction capital programs/projects. The incumbent will work closely with the assigned Capital Projects Construction PM and teams. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Direct and manage project development and progress from beginning to end; delivering projects on time, within budget, with expected results.
*

Define and document within the project initiation deliverables (e.g. charter, device requirements spreadsheets, etc.), the project technology scope, goals and deliverables support business goals, in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
*

With guidance from the Senior PM, estimate and identify the resources and participants needed to ensure the project is properly staffed to achieve project goals
*

Performs detailed requirements gathering, analysis, process, data flow diagramming and prioritization for design and discovery of projects.
*

Assist in planning and managing technology project budget for financial components utilizing eBuilder cost module tools; initiate and process contract requisitions and invoices.
*

Provides support to ensure Capital Project objectives and expectations are met by validating and tracking project benefit realization.
*

Responsible for managing documentation (project plan, issues, risk and decision logs, status reports, etc.) and effectively and accurately communicating relevant project information using standard tools and methodologies.
*

Facilitate or participate in routine project team meetings to establish and continually manage project requirements and expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
*

Ensure management is proactively informed of potential problems and risks so that they can be mitigated or resolved.
*

Proactively manage potential scope and schedule changes to minimize delays.
*

With guidance from the Senior PM, execute project change control to keep the project within the approved scope, cost, and timeline.
*

Assists in defining test scenarios. Documents, validates and executes test plans for devices; coordinates unit, integration, system, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
*

Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to develop best practices and tools for project execution and management; formally closes the project and hands-off to the end users.
*

Other relevant duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

*

Bachelor s degree in project management, health care or related field required.
*

Four or more years of relevant experience required.
*

Ability to manage 2 - 3 minor projects simultaneously.
*

Attention to detail, problem solving, organizational and communication skills (verbal, written).
*

General understanding of IT systems and IT processes preferred.
*

Experience with implementing associated hardware and building requirements for healthcare applications and technologies preferred.
*

Working knowledge of PMI, project management principles, methodology and tools (MS Project, Clarizen) preferred and/or pursuing PMP certification.
*

Ability to read and interpret plans and specification
*

Sitting for extended periods of time; physically able to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings.
*

Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other devices and objects.
