Job Description
We are seeking a Cardio Pulmonary Nurse Specialist to teach patients and caregivers about cardio pulmonary drug therapy. As a Cardio Pulmonary Nurse Specialist, you will act as a liaison between Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) centers, pulmonary physician practices, hospitals, Accredo Health Group branches and our sales team. The Cardio Pulmonary Nurse Specialist position is a dual clinical and sales role in which you will spend approximately 55% of your time with patients and 45% with referral sources such as physicians and pharmaceutical manufacturers.
Job Responsibilities
As a Cardio Pulmonary Nurse Specialist, you will serve as your branch's clinical expert on Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) treatments. You will provide PAH therapy for patients as well as education for patients, support groups, caregivers and hospital staff members on the disease itself as well as new and current PAH drug treatments. The majority of your work will take place in a hospital setting, but you will also be required to make visits to patients' homes.
Your specific duties as a Cardio Pulmonary Nurse Specialist will include:
���Training patients in their prescribed PAH treatments
���Making patient home and hospital visits to provide follow-up on disease and treatment education and to ensure that patients are following prescribed treatments
���Administering treatments to patients and providing assistance in the event of an adverse physical reaction
���Providing community outreach education for hospitals and support groups
���CEU Presenter
���Visiting PAH treatment centers in order to facilitate the referral process
���Providing orientation, education and mentoring for nursing staff regarding PAH treatments
���Meeting with pharmaceutical sales representatives
���Performing case management of patients at major treatment centers
���Coordinating and working with sales team, regional director and branch clinical team in facilitating new cardio pulmonary business
���Adhering to policies and procedures
