To provide direct, age-specific care to a patient or group of patients based on medical orders and the plan of care under the direction of the RN or licensed independent practitioner.
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire:

Certificate to practice as nursing assistant required unless a nursing student, emergency medical technician or medical assistant program graduate
Nursing students must prove completion of Fundamentals of Nursing courses as validated by the transcript for BSN, Associate Degree and Diploma Programs
Level and type of experience REQUIRED

1 year Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant experience.
Allied health or nursing student.
Emergency Medical Technician.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to read and write English
Ability to lift patients in need of assistance
Ability to move and operate basic hospital equipment
Ability to perform sterile and non-sterile procedures
Demonstrated beginning clinical competency as required for the unit assigned
Ability to work as an effective health care team member: skills of negotiation and collaboration
Knowledge and delivery of age-specific care
Level and type of experience PREFERRED:

Experience as a nursing assistant or aide.
Acute care experience or medical office experience preferred
Corpsman Emergency Medical Technician Basic
Education/training REQUIRED:
High school diploma or GED required Full time 1: Days High school diploma or equivalent is required
